We believe strongly that our new Scatter Joy Center for the Arts will provide an exciting and enriching connection for our community members to further enjoy the richness of the arts. As our center has moved from a dream to a reality, we have spoken with many community members who share the same energy and passion for our efforts. As a result, we are eager to extend opportunities to all who are interested to get involved with our new art center. The chances to get involved can come in many shapes and sizes. Outlined below are some suggested ways to join us and contribute.
Volunteering– With all the exciting programs and events in the works, extra hands are always helpful. If you feel the passion for our venture, and have extra energy and time in your life, please contact us for volunteer opportunities. The areas in which help is most needed are in scheduling programs and events, marketing, managing social media, fundraising, student mentoring, and assisting with public art projects.
Participating– Participants will always be welcome to classes, receptions, special events, and field trips. Please always keep our calendar of events handy and come out and enjoy our programming options.
Teaching– To be able to offer a vibrant array of educational programs for community members, we will always be in need of instructors who have unique and exciting creative lessons and projects to share. While volunteer instructors are always welcome, there are means to offer compensation to instructors for approved classes.
Patron Support– To help keep the dream of our art center a reality, raising extra funding will always be a necessary consideration. If the mission of the Scatter Joy Center of the Arts either inspires you or sparks a passion, please consider making a donation.
Exhibiting Work-With a dozen monthly gallery shows scheduled for each year, there will always be the need to meet new artists and craftspeople and select new exhibits. If you have an interest in being considered for an upcoming exhibit, please contact the center.
Membership– In time, we will be building a plan to encourage membership to the Scatter Joy Center for the Arts. For one small yearly contribution, you will be able to become a member. As a member, you will be making a financial contribution to the Center but will also gain select benefits that only membership can provide. These benefits will include reduced fees for SJCA classes, field trips and special events: discounts on purchases at SJCA gallery shows and in the Kathy Davis Gallery; special “meet the artist” events; and reduced rates on farmhouse rentals.
