Mural Project Rolls On

As the summer progresses, the Scatter Joy Center for the Arts mural project at College Settlement shows great progress. Through the ongoing efforts of summer campers, college interns, friends, and local community members, all have helped make the first SJCA mural project a great success. We look to wrap up our painting by late September.

A Unique After School Program Coming to SJCA this Fall

Artist Crossing

The Scatter Joy Center for the Arts is excited to offer an after school art program for middle school students. Join us Mondays and Wednesdays after school until 6:00. Take a Hatboro-Horsham bus to our beautiful center, enjoy a snack and begin creating! Learn drawing, painting, and other art and craft skills from professional artists and instructors. Enjoy the opportunity to design and complete your own independent projects. Expect the unexpected with fun field trips, visits from professional artists and the chance to showcase your art. If it sounds too good to be true for the aspiring artist, you will also have the time to complete your homework and get help from a certified teacher. When your parents pick you up, you can tell them that your homework is finished…and you had a blast!

Calligraphy Workshop a Big Success

We just finished a great week of calligraphy instruction at the Scatter Joy Center. This opportunity was provided under the expert direction of Linda Carol Gray, a Bucks County artist who specializes in the lettering arts and illustration. Workshops were provided for both Kathy Davis Studios designers and for interested area participants. People joined us from our local area as well as from Philadelphia, New York, and the Poconos. We look forward to inviting Linda back to offer similar and expanded opportunities in the future.
