For Anthony Viscounte, it’s a singular experience: get a group of musicians together with varying experience levels, genre preferences, and instruments of choice – and then set them loose on an extemporaneous adventure.
We had a wonderful evening on December 4, 2015 hosting the opening night of our annual Joy Market. We showcased 27 crafters and were pleased to see so many friends and family members join us.
Please join us on the evening of December 4th for our annual Joy Market holiday craft bazaar. This year’s Joy Market will feature the handcrafted items from 25 area crafters. This is a great time to buy special handmade presents for the holiday season.
Also, this year’s Joy Market event will mark our one year anniversary at the Scatter Joy Center for the Arts. Join us as we celebrate this special moment.
The Scatter Joy Center for the Arts was pleased to donate two hand-painted peace poles to the Jarrett Nature Center. They are now installed in the ground and on display for the community to enjoy.
Special thanks are extended to our talented artists……college interns Brianna Branco and Katie Cooper. Brianna attends the Ohio State University and Katie attends the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Their contributions to our center this past summer were immeasurable.
Our first annual “Joy Squared” art auction and benefit was a huge success. There were 340 pieces of original work on exhibit for auction. Over 250 community members were in attendance. The evening was filled with inspiring art, live music, and a chalk drawing extravaganza.
Over 240 6 x 6 canvases were sold and thousands of dollars were raised for our center.
A special thank you is extended to all who helped make this night possible.
Several dozen 6 x 6 canvases have rolled in. We thank all the contributing artists for their current work and future efforts. September 25th’s “Joy Squared” is going to be a great exhibit and a terrific chance for community members to attend the reception, purchase artwork, and help contribute financially to the future programs of the Scatter Joy Center for the Arts.
Under the joyous direction of Alyssa Mulligan, our summer theatre camp students have had a fun week preparing for their performance of an original play. Each day has been filled with various theatre exercises, scripting, singing, dancing, rehearsing, and preparing costumes, props, and scenery. All tolled, it appears to have been a great week for our campers. We think the smiles tell the whole story…..
